This mainboard was not compared to any other board, instead it was compared to its own overclocking result @3.8GHz. Conclusion: This mobo represents a good value and is perfect for the casual gamer. With a discrete GPU it could be used for serious gaming. This board does not support 125W Athlons/Phenoms though, on the other hand it's quite cheap. Power consuption idle @stock speed 55 watts, full load 106 watts. Overclocking: A Phenom II X2 550 was OCed @3.8 GHz with a vCore of 1.52. The HD4200 chipset was overclocked to 800MHz, an increase of 60%. The air cooler that was used was a Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283 and the memory was 2x2GB DDR3 PC 12800 Kingston HyperX. Benchmarks: STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, Half Life 2: Lost Coast, Street Fighter IV, Sisoft Sandra, Everest, Fritz Chess, CustomPC bench, PC mark Vantage, CrystalDiskMark.
This mobo was compared to the Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P, ASUS M4A785TD-EVO and the ECS A785GM-M. Conclusion: This mainboard does not support processors with a TDP of more than 95W and has no onboard HDMI output, on the other hand it has power, reset and CMOS clear buttons. The A785GM-M would be a much better choice because it has a lot more features, supports CPUs up to 140W and sells for the same price. Overclocking: A phenom II X2 555 was OCed@ 4080MHz, 214X19 dan the vCore was set to 1.525v. To keep the mosfest cool a Tornado 92mm fan was used. Benchmarks: SiSoft Sandra Professional, WinRAR, PCMark Vantage, Handbrake, POV-Ray, Cinebench, Call of Juarez, World in Conflict, Lost Planet, Far Cry 2, Bioshock, Crysis Warhead, Left 4 Dead, Power Consumption: ldle 100 watts -- Full load 363 watts.
This mainboard uses 15µ Gold Contact, being three times the standard amount of gold plating on the contacts of both the CPU and memory areas for a longer life span and better reliability. The ECS A785GM-AD3 was compared to the ECS A785GM-M, Sapphire PA-AM3RS785G, Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P and GA-MA785GMT-UD2H. Conclusion: On the one hand ECS used gold plating to reduce oxidation to improve the life-span of the board, on the other hand most of the capacitors they use on this board ar not solid, these capacitors are influencing the life-span in a negative way. There's no support for CPUs over 95w TDP. Overclocking: This board has a max of a max of 95w TDP, overclockersclub couldn't get a 955BE to overclock on this mobo, they switched to a Sempron 140 and OCed it to 3241.7MHz. Benchmarks: Apophysis, POVRay, Sciencemark, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty world at war, Sisoft Sandra, 3D Mark Vantage, PC Mark Vantage, Crysis, 3dmark06, Winrar, Office. |
