This mainboard was compared to an ASRock X58 and an EVGa x58.

Conclusion: The ASRock H55DE3 has a very good price/performance ratio. It offers everything you need, a good layout, the overclocking results were OK, SATA support is fast. This mobo has a good network performance and the board does it without active cooling. The cons: there are no rear brackets and the accessories are poor besides that there's no Crossfire bridge and it lacks firewire.

Overclocking: Font side bus overclocing resulted in a 202MHz stable overclock. The highest manual overclock for an Intel Core i7 860 was @180x21=3.78GHz without any issues. The memory used was 2x2GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistix PC12800 1600MHz, the air cooler was a Thermaltake Silent 1156 HSF and the HDD a Patriot Torqx 128GB Solid State Disk.

Benchmarks: Everest, Sisoft Sandra, Cinebench, x264, Far Cry 2, particle bench, UT 3, DVD Shrink, 3D mark vantage. The graphics card used for the gamng benches was an XFX Radeon HD 4870 512MB.

This motherboard was compared to the ASUS P7H55D-M EVO.

Conclusion: The ASRock H55DE3 has a well designed layout and is a very good overclocker. A few more SATA ports would have been nice though. This mobo gives you value for money.

Overclocking: A Core i3 was overclocked @ 3.75GHz running very stable with a Base Clock of 170MHz and the vCore was set to 1.23v.

Benchmarks: Far Cry 2 1900X1200, SYSmark, PC Mark Vantage.

Conclusion: The H55DE3 is a basic mainboard for Core i3/i5 CPUs with some interesting extra overclocking features, compared to the DH55TC the VRM is less, has less other featurs, but has the same price. The main voltage regulator has six phases, four for the CPU, one for for the memory controller and one for the IGP.

Overclocking: The reviewers did not perform any overclocking, but they gave a summary of the OC options in the BIOS and they discribed the Turbo50. The “Turbo 50”, promises 50% performance increase in the 3D Mark 2006 bench. This option can only be enabled if you install a CPU with integrated IGP.
