tweaktown reviewed the ASRock P55DE3This mainboard was compared to the ASUS P7P55D-E PRO, Maximus III Extreme and the ASRock P55 Deluxe. Conclusion: The P55DE3 is an impressive motherboard, it perfoms very well, except for the memory and is a great overclocker. This is probably one of the cheapest P55 boards around. The layout and spacing of the slots is good and the vertical SATA ports did not cause any issues. There's no PATA slot on this board. The power usage was 109 watts idle and 221 watts full load. The Core i5 temperature under full load was 34.8 degrees Celsius. Overclocking: A core i5 750 was overclocked @4327MHz, BCLK 206x21. The cooler used was a Cooler Master Hyper 212 + 2nd fan and the memory was 2x2GB Kington PC12800. hardwaresecrets had a look at the ECS H55H-IThe H55H-I is a mini-ITX board for Core i3 and i5 CPUs. This motherboard was not compared to another board. Conclusion: The conclusion gives more or less a summary of all the connectors and concludes that this mobo is targeted to users that would like to have a small(er) computer or a Home Theatre PC. Overclocking: The reviewers did not perform any overclocking. On page 6 of the review you'll find some bios options and screenshots. Benchmarks: There are no benchmarks tested.
tweaktown reviewed the Foxconn A9DA-SThis mobo was compared to the ASUS P7H57D and the Gigabyte GA-890-GPA-UD3H. Conclusion: The editors gave it a 'must have' best performance award. This mobo performed amazingly well (except for the Future Mark tests), the layout was OK, but the IGP was not able to play modern games. A disctrete HD 5870 had no 'issues', while on two other boards the reviewers encountered problems. This mainboard is not a 'performance board', it can be considered as a mainstream 890GX board. The power consumption was 113 watts under full load, the power draw idle was 92 watts. Overclocking: A Phenom II X4 965 was overclocked @4.080.5 MHz (240 BCLK x 17). madshrimps reviewed the MSI 890GXM-G65This mainboard was compared to the Intel DH55TC. Conclusion: After the first boot everything worked perfectly stable. The test sessions with this board went smoothly and the editor had no reason to complain about anything. This is a solid product and certainly worth to consider when going for an AMD-based HTPC. The reviewer gave it no award because: Quote"to hand out awards a product does really have to stand out against the competition...more
bjorn3d reviewed the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3RThis mainboard was compared to the ASUS Rampage II Extreme. Conclusion: This mobo is ready for the new hex-core CPUs, SATA3 and USB3. Being a 'lower-end' socket 1366 motherboard the expectations for overclocking were not very high, but it turned out to overclock just as good as the higher segment in the 1366 lineup. Overclocking: A core i7 930 was overclocked @4.18GHz, BCLK 220MHz and 19x multiplier. The cpu air cooler was a HeatKiller CPU Quad 120mm XSPC Radiator and the memory 1333MHz Crucial DDR3. Benchmarks: Sisoft Sandra, wPrime, Everest, POVray, Auto MKV, Blender, WinRAR, Excel, 3D mark Vantage, Darkest of Days, Dirt 2.
overclockersclub reviewed the Asus P6X58D PremiumThis motherboard was compared to the ASUS P6T & Rampage II GENE, EVGA X58 SLI, MSI Eclipse SLI & X58 Platinum. Conclusion: This mobo was easy to overclock, allthough it was behind the Rampage II Extreme, the chips' heatsinks kept it very cool, and the constuction is of a very high quality. This board is ready for the upcoming i7 hexacore 'Gulftown' processors and is of course equipped with USB3.0 and SATA6.0Gb/s, next to that it has Tri-SLI capabilities. Overclocking: A core i7 920 was OCed @ 3990MHz, 190BCLK x 21multiplier. xbitlabs reviewed the ASUS P7H57D-V EVOThis mainboard was compared to the Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD4. Conclusion: The editors gave it the Ultimate Innovation award for being the most unique and extraordinary solution, this board is a great overcloccker, a multi-card graphics configuration like on Intel P55 Express based solutions is also possible, next to that you'll find new connectors like USB3 and SATA3 on this board. The power consumption was 81 watts idle and 115 watts full load. Overclocking: Without changing the CPU core voltage a core i5 540 was OCed @3.5GHz. After increasing the Vcore by 0.2875V the reviewers managed to get a stable overclock result @4.5 GHz. ixbtlabs had a look at the Intel DP55WBThis mainboard is the 'junior' in Intel's P55 lineup, also known as "Whitesburg", it was not compared to another board. Conclusion: This mobo has to rely on its cheap price because it's certainly not the best in its class. The Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 is far more attractive (eSATA, PATA, PS/2) and probably (a lot?) better in overclocking because of the 6-channel CPU power circuitry, besides that it has a high-end audio codec. Overclocking: The reviewers did not perform any overclocking. Benchmarks: RightMark Audio Analyzer 6.0.
tweaktown reviewed the Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3HThis mainboard was compared to the ASUS P7PH57D-V EVO. Conclusion: This board doesn't have a great layout and it had a few performance issues. Using a discrete GPU lead to an overall decreased performance. This mainboard is OK if you consider the $140 price tag, but the BIOS could be optimized. The issues will have to be resolved before the reviewers can recommend it. Overclocking: A Phenom II X4 965 was OCed @ 4080 MHz (240BCLKx17). The air cooler used was a Cooler Master Hyper 212 with a second fan and the memory was 2x2GB Kingston PC3-12800 1600MHz HyperX DDR3. madshrimps reviewed the Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5This motherboard was compared to the MSI 790FX-GD70 in the benchmarks. Conclusion: The new SATA3 and USB3 work fine with this mobo, with the new the 870, 880 and 890 series coming up this mainboard will be hard to sell. There are still some bugs(HD write, USB issue), but on the other hand this board has been nicely engineered and the bios has many features. Overclocking: There were issues with the F2 Bios . The overdrive tool in Windows was not working as it should. Most of the multipliers, voltage sliders and some ram timings couldn't be altered. The maximum HT was 313MHz and the Corsair GTX2 1800Mhz C6-6-6-24 stopped @ 1680MHz. Benchmarks: 3D mark 2001 and 2006, SuperPi 1M, Wprime32, Everest, Cinebench, x264 HD, PCmark2005, MAX HT, MAX ram.

guru3d reviewed the ECS A890GXM-AThis mainboard was compared to the ASUS 890X and the MSI 890X and many other Intel and AMD processors. Conclusion: Allthough this mobo has SATA3 ECS, didn't integrate the NEC USB3 chip, you'll find that bundled with the U version that has a separate USB3 PCIe card. The overclock options from MSI and ASUS are a lot better. The ECS is a winner when we have a look at the price, boards from ASUS and MSI are roughly $50,- more expensive than the ECS motherboard. ECS is also improving the quality, a 6+1-phase VRM, onboard LEDs, ferrite chokes and solid capacitors can be seen on their mobos nowadays. EVGA X58 SLI Micro reviewed by hardwarecanucksA very large review with tons of pics of the bundle, board, BIOS and test setup. A lot of attention was given to the included software E-LEET, a kind of CPU-Z tool that is able to adjust voltages on the fly. Memory overclocking with state of the art memory and other overclocking issues were reviewd extensively. Archives |
