Mid august 2009 ASUS released the new M4A785 Series with enhanced graphics performance and DDR2 as well as DDR3 support for AMD AM3 processors.

The ASUS M4A785D-M PRO has the AMDŽ 785G chipset which supports DirectX10.1 and UVD 2.0 (for blu-ray playback). This motherboard has DDR2 memory and as the PRO indicates it has high(er) overclocking capabilities.

The radeon 4200 onboard video can be overclocked in the BIOS and has a special tool called GPU NOS for intelligently detecting graphics load and automatically boosting performance, overclocking parameters like the GPU voltage and frequency can be changed with this tool.
There is a maximum of 16 Gigs DDR2 1200(O.C.)/1066*/800/667 memory, but the AMD CPU's cannot handle 1066MHZ memory or higher in dual channel mode, the frequency will be lowered to 800MHZ if you use two dimms, you'll have to use one dimm per channel to achieve 1200/1066MHZ. To get the full potential from DDR2 1200 you'll have to use the blue dimm slots.

The Turbo Key feature is an overclocking tool that can be activated by simply pressing the power button of your computer, by pressing the power button again the Turbo Key is deactivated.

The optical S/PDIF out brings you high-end sound when connected to your stereo.
